Frequently asked questions

All about our waxing and sharpening service
During a waxing session, we apply a new layer of wax to the base of your skis or snowboard. This ensures a smoother gliding experience and helps protect the base of your equipment.
Regular waxing ensures your equipment glides better and protects the base from drying out and wear. A well-waxed ski or snowboard can also react better to various snow conditions.
This depends on how often you go winter sports and the conditions in which you ski or snowboard. As a guideline, it is advisable to have your equipment re-waxed after several days of skiing or snowboarding. With intensive use, this may be necessary more often.
When your skis or snowboard are sharpened, the steel edges are resharpened and neatly finished. This gives you more grip and control, especially on hard or icy slopes.
This also depends on usage and conditions. Frequent skiing or snowboarding on hard slopes can cause the edges to wear out faster. If you experience less grip, sharpening may be necessary.
Yes, you can. You can choose to have your skis waxed only, have only the edges sharpened, or a combination of both.
P-Tex is the material that makes up the base of your skis or snowboard. A P-Tex repair involves filling and neatly finishing damage, such as scratches or small grooves. This restores the base and allows your equipment to glide better and more smoothly again.
Most small to medium-sized damages can be repaired well. For deep or large damages, we first assess whether a P-Tex repair is possible. We do not perform large repairs.

About us

The Best Place for Winter Sports Equipment in the Netherlands

In 2023, I, Tom Nederstigt, became Snowshepherd's Dutch partner after discovering the gloves myself and being immediately impressed by their quality. As an avid winter sports enthusiast, I was always looking for gloves that offered both durability and comfort, and Snowshepherd exceeded my expectations. The combination of high-quality leather, waterproof membranes, and effective insulation ensures that the gloves not only withstand the toughest conditions but are also incredibly comfortable during long days on the slopes.

Founded in 2009, Snowshepherd started out as avalanche rescue equipment, but in recent years has specialized in making high-quality ski gloves. Their products are inspired by classic French work gloves, known for their robustness and durability. Like many winter sports enthusiasts, I was looking for gloves that would last multiple seasons without sacrificing warmth or protection, and Snowshepherd proved to be the perfect solution.

Now, as the Dutch partner of this brand, I bring this exceptional quality to the Dutch market. In addition to our well-known leather ski gloves, Snowshepherd offers a wide range of gloves and mittens, suitable for both winter sports and everyday activities. We are known for our sustainable production methods and the use of high-quality materials such as cowhide, which is naturally dried for extra strength. Furthermore, we integrate sustainable practices into our production process, using solar energy and supporting local communities in Pakistan.

With my personal experience and passion for winter sports, I'm ready to provide the Dutch market with the best gloves the sporting world has to offer. Whether you're an avid skier or someone simply looking for durable, warm gloves, you're guaranteed to find what you're looking for at SnowshepherdNL.
